What Physicians Are Saying...

"I have offered [Kelo-cote®] to a variety of patients over the last two years in clinical practice. Almost uniformly they have reported to me that they have seen a dramatic reduction in scar erythema and scar softening within 7 days of application."

Rex Moulton-Barrett, MD, Consultant Plastic Surgeon

"Kelo-cote®, a silicone gel available at drugstores, can also help flatten raised scars.  This new rub-on gel is “remarkably effective when worn daily for about two to three months,” says James Spencer, associate professor of clinical dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, who recently studied it." (Allure magazine, May 2009)

James Spencer, associate professor of clinical dermatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine

“I have been using Kelo-cote® gel for a couple of years now and have been very pleased with the way it lightens and softens surgical and traumatic scars.  My patients find it very easy to use.”

Douglas G. Mann, MD, FACS

"We recommend Kelo-cote® Spray to all our breast and body contouring post-operative patients. It is quick, convenient and effective. The spray application has a high degree of compliance."

Robert D. Rehnke, MD, St. Petersburg, FL

“Dr. Linder has performed over six thousand mommy makeovers and abdominoplasty procedures.  He says a lot of patients aren’t given the truth about scarring in order to sell them on getting surgery.  He finds using Kelo-cote®, a silicone gel spray, twice a day for three months post-surgery yield the best results.” Pasadena magazine, May 2010

Stuart A. Linder, MD FACS

"Having grown up in Miami and of Cuban descent, I am quite familiar with the issues Hispanics may have with thickening scars and keloid formation.  Now that I am practicing cosmetic surgery (over eight years) many patients of color; Hispanic, African-American, Asian, and East Indian have concerns regarding scar appearance after operations such as breast lifts, facelifts, and tummy tucks.  The post-operative protocol in my practice is to initiate the use of Kelo-cote® gel or spray on the healing incision beginning 2 to three weeks after surgery.  I will have the patients use this for at least 3 months post operatively and sometimes longer.  The results have been impressive.."

Rudy J. Triana, Jr., MD, FACS

"I recommend that all of my patients use Kelo-cote® Advanced Formula Scar Gel post-op to ensure that scars are nearly invisible. It impacts the three key components of optimal scar outcome: hydration, protection, and normalization of collagen synthesis. Kelo-cote® is also effective at improving the appearance of existing scars, and at fighting pain, itching and redness. It’s a plastic surgeon’s secret to beautiful results.” GENLUX magazine Spring 2010

Davis Nguyen, MD, Beverly Hills, CA

"We have used Kelo-cote® on topical burns, dermabrasion and even secondarily on skin graft donor sites with excellent results. As it is proven to be an excellent product and we have had very minimal reaction to it in a spectrum of patients over the past two years. Thank you once again for bringing this product to market. It has been an excellent addendum to our wound care regimen."

David H. Slepyan, MD, FACS, satisfied customer

Thanks for supplying the samples of your product.  I have tried the Kelo-cote on all kinds of healing skin wounds now and am very favorably impressed that is makes quite a difference in the size of the skin scar, and the patients all comment on how much they like what it has done for them.  A great product and Dwayne’s Pharmacy is now carrying it for me.  Thanks again for making something that works so well available.

D. Scott Clark, MD

I treated a patient on 01/19/00.  The patient presented with a big keloid scar formation along the dorsum of the PIP joint of the right index finger following injury in a National Hockey League game.  There was some painful limited flexion of the right index finger.  The patient, an All-Pro NHL player, was given Kelo-cote (topical silicone scar gel) to apply to the MP joint of the right index finger.

The patient returned on 02/17/00 for a follow-up visit.  The keloid formation examined on the previous visit, located on the dorsum of the right index finger, decreased by 50% with the use of Kelo-cote (topical silicone scar gel), since the initial visit of 1/19/00.  The patient also stated that he is now able to flex the joint of the right index finger without noticeable discomfort.  Clinically, the patient is making excellent progress using Kelo-cote (topical silicone scar gel) to treat the keloid on his right index finger.  Patient is recommended to continue to apply Kelo-cote (topical silicone scar gel) to the keloid on his right index finger as indicated.
